Douglas, John, 77, of White Bear Lake, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on May 29, 2022.
John is survived by the love of his life, wife, Sandy, of 50 years; daughter, Jody (Rich Nygaard); sons, Bob and Jon (Elizabeth); his sweet grandchildren, Shailey, Sophia, Anika, Paisley, Inara, Emmy and Sawyer; his brother, Ken; many nieces; nephews; and cousins; and dear friends, Jack, Sharon, Brad, and Roy; and other extended family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his son, Tommy; parents, Cal and Dorothy; brother, Russ; sister, Marilyn Jackovich; brothers-in-law, Don McNertney and Joe Jackovich; niece, JoAnne Jackovich; and nephew, Phillip. John served in the Army for 2 years and is a Vietnam Veteran. John was a huge Rolling Stones fan. John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. John will be deeply missed by all who loved him. “John, my love, you were supposed to let me go first”.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at 4:00pm, at Community of Grace Lutheran Church, 4000 Linden Drive, White Bear Lake, with visitation from 3:00pm until the time of the service. A private family interment to take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
