John Gerald Ballis

Ballis, John G. Age 96 of St. Paul John G. Ballis died peacefully, with his family by his side, on June 12, 2012. He was a gentle man, with a great sense of humor and fun-loving spirit. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Kinney Ballis, his sister, Virginia Hageman and three brothers, Joe, Frank and George Ballis. John was a devoted husband and father, a dear grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a proud, retired mail carrier and Navy veteran. He is survived by his children: John (Marge) Ballis, Mary (Jim) Bruton, Pauline (Ted) Anderson, Virginia (Bill) Hawthorne; his grandchildren: Paul (Sharon) Ballis, Chris (Ann) Ballis, Tom (Molly) Ballis, Jim (Sandy) Bruton, Dan (Janelle) Bruton, Molly (Pat) Suko, Caitlin Hawthorne, Joseph Hawthorne and 13 great-grandchildren: Abbi, Brett, Zach, Madi, Jake, Sammie, Brady, Logan, Nick, Elly, Anna, Michael, and Alexandra. A special thank you and blessing to the staff and resident friends of New Harmony Care Center for the loving care they gave to John. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Friday, June 15, 2012 at St. Pascal Baylon Catholic Church at 3rd Street and White Bear Avenue, St. Paul with visitation from 9-10:30 AM at the church. Private interment. Memorials to St. Pascal Baylon Catholic Church, New Harmony Care Center or Donor’s Choice.
