Joanne Lorenz

Joanne Lorenz, age 73, of St. Paul, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Joanne Frances Bodmer was born on August 4, 1950, in St. Paul, to Donald and Joan Bodmer. She grew up in St. Paul and attended Maternity Mary Grade School. She graduated from St. Agnes High School and then attended Winona State College. She worked at Knutson and US Bank as a Mortgage Post Closure agent for 32 years before her retirement.

When she wasn't cheering for the Minnesota Vikings or Twins, Joanne enjoyed motorcycle rides and road trips. She loved to travel, and especially enjoyed her vacations to Mexico. She was known to be an avid duster. Like any good grandma, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren and the rest of her family and friends. She was known by her friends as "Pyle," "Bookworm," and "Jr." Joanne was a dear friend to so many and will be greatly missed.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Chuck Bodmer; and Cuddles, the cat from Hell.

She leaves behind her husband, Jack Lorenz; son, Tom (Amanda) Vogel; grand-children, Jamie, Casey, and Christian Vogel; siblings, Jeff (Kathy) Bodmer, Joe (Julie) Bodmer, Jackie (Keith) Peterson, and Donald Bodmer; her grand-dogs, Franklin and Maggie; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Mueller Memorial Parkway Chapel; 835 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 3:00 PM, with a Memorial Service at 3:00. Following the service, everyone is welcome to join Joanne's family for food and drinks in the lunch hall.
