Joan Cain

Joan V. Cain, born in St. Paul to Italian parents, Nazareno and Mary Trebiani on November 4, 1934. She was one of three children, with an older brother, Roland, and her younger sister, Mary Lou. She grew up in St. Paul’s east side and graduated from Harding High School in 1952. After high school, she met John Cain and they were married in 1955. Joan was blessed with four children, Tom, Joe, Michelle and Matt. Her sister and devoted friend, Mary Lou, was always by her side. They were inseparable. Her brother, Roland, moved to Chicago where he met and married his wife, Marie. Joan visited Chicago many times to see her brother and his family, maintaining a very close bond despite the distance. Joan had a fun essence within her. She enjoyed her high school years and continue to stay in contact with her high school friends. She had attended every school reunion. She had a love of fair rides, so on her 80th birthday, she wanted to go to Valley Fair with her family including her grandchildren to ride on the roller coasters and any other dare devil rides. She took pride in her Italian heritage, including culture and food and traveled to Italy to visit her parent’s relatives. Joan was a patriotic individual and it became even stronger when her son, Matt, joined the Marines. She loved John Phillip Sousa, “Stars and Stripes Forever” was her favorite song, and you could always depend on seeing a display of her patriotism on the 4th of July in wearing red, white and blue. Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Nazareno and Mary Trebiani, her brother, Roland (Marie) and her husband, John Cain. She is survived by her sister, Mary Lou Trebiani; her children; Tom (Mary), Joe (Julie), Michelle (Jeff Langevin) and Matt (Amanda); her seven grandchildren; Stacey, Meghan (Derek), Lauren (Ryan), Brittany (Jennifer), Brock, Eric and Emma; and her four great grandchildren; Arianna, Reese, Hunter and Hailey.
