Mueller, Jean
“Jeaners” or Grandma Jean of Wayzata, died September 28, 2012 at age 86. Jean is survived by husband, Flavian (Bud) of 66 years; sons, Steve (Pam), Mike (Shelly), Tim (Mary); and daughter-in-law, Sue Mueller; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Jean Mueller lived her life and dedicated her every day to her family (near and far) and to those who surrounded her. An avid, enthusiastic (loud) and feisty soccer fan of her two granddaughters’ soccer teams, she became a grandmother, caretaker and role model to entire teams of young girls and remained so as they have grown. One of them recently said, “We all think of ‘Jeaners’ as our own grandma, because that's how she made us feel.” She loved sports, all kinds of music, fast and red cars, the sunshine and the color yellow and until the day she died, she found comfort in holding hands; she most likely baked close to a million chocolate chip cookies throughout her life and she wasn’t afraid to tell you exactly how she felt or what she was thinking. There is a quote that reads, “For it’s not the light that is needed, but the fire; it’s not the gentle shower, but thunder. We need the storm, the whirlwind and the earthquake in our hearts.” Jean Mueller was the storm. She was the whirlwind and the earthquake in all of our hearts. She will be remembered as a courageous, loving, forgiving and incredibly happy, strong woman who made people’s lives better by simply being in them. Mass of Christian Burial 7 PM Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the Church of St. George, 133 North Brown Road, Long Lake with visitation from 5-7 PM before the Mass at the church.
