Janelle Walsh, Age 51 of White Bear Lake passed away unexpectedly on Saturday July 27, 2019.
Janelle was born August 7, 1967 to Jim Walski and Betty Walski (Ebertowski) and raised in Minto, North Dakota where she enjoyed sports, cheerleading and excelled in school. At a very early age Janelle began playing the piano for Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Minto. She would later share her life-long passion for music as the accompanist at the Newman Center at the University of North Dakota, St. Joseph the Worker in Maple Grove, St. Odilia in Shoreview and St. Mary of the Lake in White Bear Lake. Her love for music was one of the most important things she passed on to her children, all accomplished musicians. Janelle was at her best when she was in âmother bearâ mode looking out for her three children. Her capacity for love extended beyond them to her nieces and nephews â greeting them with silly knick-names and smothering them with hugs. Family was everything to Janelle â she loved her Grandma Florence, her father, and her brothers and sister immensely. Birthdays and holidays meant a lot to her and she loved to share memories through photographs and reminiscing.
Janelle happily stepped away from a successful career in banking to realize her true calling as a stay-at-home mom. She worked for Metropolitan Financial Bank and as a branch manager for the Honeywell Federal Credit Union. For the past five years she worked in the accounting department at Dimation, Inc, in Shakopee. To her friends and co-workers she was outgoing, gregarious, goofy, loud â all in a good way. She could talk to anyone in any situation and frequently made friends out of strangers. That outgoing spirit and spunk will be missed by her family and friends.
Janelle is survived by her children Anne Elizabeth, Emily Grace and Thomas James, siblings Mitchell Walski (Lee) of Crookston, Kris Walski (Susie) of Logan, IA, Melanee Sorensen (Ben) of Edina, best friend Lynette Greciar of East Grand Forks, her former husband Bill Walsh and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her Grandma Florence Walski and her parents Jim Walski and Betty Ebertowski.
The funeral mass will be Friday August 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 4741 Bald Eagle Ave, White Bear Lake, MN 55110. There will be a viewing prior to Mass at 9:30 am. Burial will take place directly after Mass at the St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery and a luncheon will follow the burial at the St. Mary of the Lake Parish Life Center. Memorials for Janelleâs children requested in lieu of flowers.
