James Gits

Gits James Paul January 24, 1925 ~ February 18, 2017 Age 92 Known for his sense of humor, which he had until the end. Retired, beloved White Bear Lake history teacher. Proud veteran. Member of the Hugo American Legion, St. Genevieve Catholic Church (St. John the Baptist), VFW and Knights of Columbus. Preceded in death by his wife DeLoris; parents; siblings Patricia, Tom & Bob. Survived by his son Peter (Lezlie); brother-in-law Ralph Opatz; sister-in-law Mona Venaglia and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Private interment at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Hugo. A memorial celebration of Jim’s life with be at a later date. Memorials preferred to the Hugo American Legion.
