Ida Christine Gangl

Gangl, Ida C. nee Olanio Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother Ida passed away peacefully in her sleep during early morning hours of October 1st at the age of 99. Ida was the matriarch of a larger family, leading by example, always caring for others and sacrificing herself for the good of all. She worked as a bookkeeper and administrator until the age of 88 in addition to volunteering her service to church and school. She was ever optimistic, joyful and positive about life right up to the last day, singing with others in her home. She is the end of an era and generation in our family and will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Preceded in death by her parents, Seraphino and Marietta (Palumbo), brother Floyd Olanio and sisters Maggie Crea, Armida Gagliardi. Survived by her son John and wife Kathy, grandsons; Jesse (wife Robyn) and Matthew. Visitation from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at MUELLER LAKE MORTUARY, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave at 3rd St, WBL, and one hour prior to the Mass at church. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM Thursday, Oct. 6 at ST. MARY OF THE LAKE CHURCH, 4741 Bald Eagle Ave., WBL . Private interment. Friends are urged to attend a reception following Mass with the family. Memorials preferred.
