HELEN GENEVIEVE RICHTER
Helen was born in Faribault, Minnesota on December 11, 1916. She was the younger of two daughters of Agnes (nee St. Martin) and Robert Meinke. She graduated from Faribault High School and completed a year of business school in Foley, MN. She met the love of her life, Lloyd Richter, and the two were married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault, MN on August 3, 1940. They moved to Montgomery, MN where they raised their family. Helen was very active in each community she lived in and will be fondly remembered for her love of roses and the library. She lived at Cerenity Marian Care Center in St. Paul for 15 years and then The Waters of Oakdale until her death.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Agnes and Robert Meinke; her husband, Lloyd Richter; and her sister, Gertrude (Kenneth) Myhre. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Susan (John) Lemanski of Oakdale, MN; her son, Robert (Jody) Richter; of Ridgefield, WA; her granddaughters, Ann (Dale) Mitchell of Chicago, IL, Amy Lemanski of Plymouth, MN, Sarah (Steve) Billups of Denver, CO, Jennifer (Joshua) Dorfler of Fayetteville, NC, and Cara (James) Craft of Vancouver, WA; great-grandchildren, Michael, Peter, Joshua, Amanda, and Alexis; and many other family and friends.
There will be a service for family and friends at Cerenity Marian Care Center, 200 Earl Street, St. Paul on Monday, May 8th , 2017 at 11:00 AM with visitation an hour prior. Private interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Memorials preferred to Cerenity Marian Foundation.
