Hazel Evelyn Huspek (Simonson)
Hazel was born on April 6, 1925 in Tioga, North Dakota to Helen and Knute Simonson. She was one of five children. On July 11, 1959, Hazel was united in Marriage to Douglas Huspek in Mason City, Iowa. Doug and Hazel raised a family of six children. Hazel passed away on January 31, 2021 at the age of 95.
Hazel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She enjoyed her daily sweets, coffee and cooking for her family. Hazel lived every day caring for others. Her kindness touched many people and left an everlasting impression on everyone she met. Hazel will forever be missed and will live in our memories forever.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas; her siblings, Lorraine Cameron, Lavonne Almich and Ken Simonson. Hazel is survived by her children, Candace (Jeff Burnham) Huspek, Kathy (Larry) Shemon, Kim (Bob) Beneke, Douglas (Linda) Huspek, Jan Huspek, Larry (Connie) Huspek and Tony (Connie) Huspek; her grandchildren, Justin (Laura) Huspek, Jeremy (Sara) Huspek, Joey Huspek, Larry Shemon, Michelle Shemon, Shawna LaDaittre, Roberta (Douglas) Suski, William (Katie) Huspek, Frankie Huspek, Katie (Bob) Karsten, Matt (Angie) Huspek, Melissa Huspek, Michael Huspek, Nicole Johnson and Brittany (Thomas) Pompei; her 18 great-grandchildren; her sister, Judy Moritz; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
There will be a public visitation from 5-7pm on Friday, February 5th at Mueller Memorial, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake. Burial will take place on a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
