Greg Carlson, 79, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025. He was born on September 5, 1945, the oldest child of Walter and Irene. Greg grew up in Duluth, Minnesota, alongside his sister Sue. After graduating from Duluth East High School, his family moved to White Bear Lake, where he met the love of his life, Susan Christiansen.
Greg and Sue were married for 51 years until her passing in 2019. They were blessed with two children: Scott (Holly) of Amery, WI, and Amanda of Canonsburg, PA.
Greg served in the Navy as an Aircraft Mechanic during the Vietnam War era. After his service, he pursued his passion for designing homes. He worked as a draftsman for Interstate Lumber for several years before becoming self-employed and establishing Carlson Home Design. Throughout his career, he drew every plan by hand using a pencil and mechanical drafting board. His work, knowledge, and kindness touched many lives over the years.
In his later years, Greg spent much of his free time restoring his 1954 Dodge Meadowbrook. He enjoyed chatting with friends, sharing stories, and finding a fix for anything that was broken.
Greg is survived by his son, Scott (Holly) and his daughter, Amanda. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Bev of White Bear Lake and Shirley (Jack) of Inver Grove Heights, along with an extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 27 at 12:30pm at Mueller Memorial, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake, with visitation beginning at 12pm. Final Resting Place, Roselawn Cemetery.
