Grupa, Gloria Ann
“The Pink Grandma”
age 89, of St Paul
Passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home, September 28th with family by her side. Defied cancer for 8 years. Preceded in death by husband Leo, parents Benny and Josephine Continenza. Dearly missed by children David (Kirsten), Mary Jo (Mike) Marolt, and Jane (Marty) Russo, grandchildren Jacob and Ann Marolt, Mark and Joseph Grupa, Tom, Maria and Ellen Russo, and siblings Louis (Elayne) Continenza, Annette (Roger) Mackenroth, Kathy (Blair) Whitney along with many nieces and nephews. Gloria was extremely proud of her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She expressed her love of art through photography, various forms of drawing and painting, and even personalizing cakes for her loved ones. Gloria was a lover of all things sweet. Candy, desserts - “A sliver of each, please”. She was an avid Twins fan and enjoyed following the games and players. Pink was Gloria’s favorite color; please wear something pink to the celebration of her life. Special thanks to the HealthEast Hospice, with heartfelt gratitude to Chris for 4 years of compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to HealthEast Hospice. Visitation from 2pm to 4pm on FRIDAY, October 5th at the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Maplewood with the Mass of Christian Burial at 4pm. Thank-you for being on time – we will make sure Gloria is too! ;-)
