Genevieve Elizabeth Elko (nee Berg)

Gen was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on January 4, 1939. She was one of four children to Regina (nee Schmidt) and Joseph Berg. She attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from Johnson High School. She met the love of her life, Eugene John Elko, while roller-skating and they were married at Sacred Heart Parish. Gene and Gen loved to spend their time together at home and did not venture out much. They did enjoy time together with their families for the holidays.

Gen is preceded in death by her parents, Regina and Joseph Berg; her husband, Eugene Elko; her brother who passed as a child, Donald Berg; her sister, Virginia (Donald) Boden; and her brother, Charles Berg. She is survived by her dear sister-in-law, Eileen Berg; her nieces and nephews, Theresa (Lance) VanElsen of Oakdale, Joseph Berg of St. Michael, Daniel Berg of Maplewood, Charlene Boden of Oakdale, Linda Boden of Oakdale, and Gary Boden of Oakdale; and her great-nieces and great-nephews.

Graveside service 11:00am on Monday, May 2nd at Calvary Cemetery, 753 Front Ave., St. Paul.
