Florence Elizabeth Brockway (Miller)

Brockway, Florence Elizabeth (nee Miller), age 97, of St. Paul, on April 28, 2017. Florence was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Mabel Miller of Sioux Falls, SD, Brother Kenneth Miller and Sister Norma Coulter of Sioux Falls, SD, Sister Thelma Gillen of Alamogordo, NM, and son Bruce Brockway of Minneapolis. Florence is survived by son Matthew (Judy) of San Antonio, TX, son Kenneth of St. Paul, and son Clark of Hudson, WI., also survived by grandchildren Sean, Breana, Jennifer, Jovelle and great-grandchildren Elisabeth, Dylan, Duncan, Tyler, Hailee, Austyn, and Athena. Florence was born in Bryant, SD on January 8, 1920 and moved to Sioux Falls when she was around five. Florence graduated from Irvine High School in 1938 and she was married to Delbert Brockway on March 7, 1943 in Sioux Falls. Florence moved to St. Paul in 1946, and worked, along with her husband, for her in-laws at the Hazel Park Bakery at 7th St. & White Bear Ave in St. Paul until 1960. She then worked for West Publishing Company from 1960 until 1985 when she retired. Florence was a long time member of Hayden Heights Baptist Church, St. Paul, and Oakdale First Baptist Church, Oakdale, MN. Service Wednesday (May 3) at 2:00pm at OAKDALE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 7075-15th Street North, Oakdale with visitation one hour before the service. Family interment Union Cemetery, Maplewood. Memorials preferred to the church.
