Yanez, Emmett J. March 3, 1920 ~ December 3, 2016 Age 96 Preceded in death by first wife, Natalie (Martinez); granddaughter Rachel, parents Francisco & Elvira; siblings Arnold Medoza, Sr., Emily Amaro, Lorenzo Yanez, Sr., Crispina Amaro, Rudy Yanez, Louis Yanez, Sr., Leonard Yanez and Henry Yanez. Survived by wife Sylvia; sons Ron (Maggie) and Randy (Jane Bowers); grandchildren Manolete Yanez and Nina Yanez; great grandchildren Sophia, Natalie & John; great great granddaughter Charlotte; siblings Ventrua Yanez, Fran Lopez & Elvira Diaz; Sylvia’s children Rita, Becky & Michael and their families and many nieces & nephews. Emmett retired from the City of St. Paul Bridge Department; was a lifelong coach including Golden Gloves Hall of Fame Boxing coach; avid golfer; WWII veteran with the 82nd Airborne-504 Regiment, a survivor of many campaigns; member of the Mexican American Amvets Post #5 and VFW. Mass of Christian Burial Friday (December 9) at 11:00 AM at OUR LADY OF GUADALPE CHURCH, 401 Cesar Chavez. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation Thursday ( December 8) from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at MUELLER MEMORIAL, 835 Johnson Parkway and one hour before the Mass at church on Friday. Special thanks to the staffs of Maplewood Care Center and HealthEast Hospice for their loving care. Memorial preferred to White Bear Boxing Club, 5250 Highway 61, White Bear Lake, MN 55110.
