Elmay (Ellie) B. Mercier

MERCIER Elmay B. “Ellie” Passed Away Peacefully Surrounded by her Loving Family on March 12, 2014. Ellie faced Multiple Myeloma courageously for nine years. She was a lifelong resident of Madison, WI and spent the last 18 months near her family in White Bear Lake, MN. Preceded in death by her husband, Alphonse John “Jack” Mercier; her parents; and 7 brothers and sisters. Will be dearly missed by her children, Jane (Mark Taylor) Mercier and John (Shellie) Mercier; grandsons, Jack and Joe; brothers, Harvey and Franklin Gietzel, and Gordon (Florine) Schwartz; sister, Bernice (Lloyd) Wagener; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Ellie was born in Burnett, WI on June 13, 1926. She married Jack Mercier on February 14, 1948. Ellie was a devoted wife and mother. Her family meant everything to her, and she will be remembered for putting everyone else’s needs before her own. A celebration of her life will be in Madison on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Olbrich Botanical Gardens. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society or the International Myeloma Foundation.
