Eleanor C. Stiener Poppel

ELEANOR C. POPPEL Age 99, Died March 22, 2013 Eleanor was born on May 11, 1913 in St. Paul, MN and died there of natural causes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorenz and Julia (Koppy) Steiner; siblings, Rose (Al) Dietsch, Marie Gall, Catherine (Chester) Modzynski, Veronica (Erling) Skogstad, Julia (Leo) Geraghty, Leonard Steiner and Josephine Collette; husband, Joseph Poppel; and daughter, Donna Mae Vogel. She is survived by brother, Lawrence Steiner and son, Joseph (Robynlea) Poppel as well as 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 4 great, great-grandchildren. Eleanor worked in the family grocery store from age 13 until she retired at 62. She performed volunteer duties for over 20 years. She volunteered 6000+ hours at Regions Hospital Gift Shop during 17 years of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Childhood Catholic Church, 1435 Midway Parkway, St. Paul, MN on Tuesday, March 26th at 10AM. Visitation 1 hour preceding the Mass at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lyngblomsten Care Center, 1415 Almond Avenue St. Paul, MN 55108.
