Duane Royal Webber
Age 83 of St. Paul, Minnesota
Passed away December 19, 2018
Duane was born August 1, 1935 in Duluth, MN, and graduated from Duluth Cathedral High School in 1954. From Jan 1955 to Dec 1956 he was a member of the 801st Engineer Aviation Battalion, US Air Force stationed in England. Later, Duane joined the Minnesota Army National Guard, 257th Military Police, with a rank as Sergeant proudly serving for 20 years. During his service in the Guard, his unit was activated in 1991 to assist with the Gulf War in Iraq. At the time he was the oldest reservist to be deployed at the age of 55. In his civilian life, he was a Correctional Officer at Stillwater State Prison, retiring from there at the age of 55. For the next 23 years, Duane enjoyed playing golf every weekday morning, winning many tournaments and enjoying the sunshine. For the last 5 years of his life, he was a resident of the Maplewood Homestead, where he made many new friends and smoking buddies. He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Hildore Webber and Elizabeth DuCharme and his daughter, Mary Beth Webber. Duane is survived by his daughter, Debra (Charles) Reichert of Superior, Wisconsin; Grandchildren, Danielle (Kirk) Achziger of Norwood, Colorado, Kristopher (Kamaya) Peterson of St. Paul, Minnesota, Joseph Reichert of Denver, Colorado, Elizabeth (Stephen) Naglak of Meadowlands, Minnesota; and great grandson Makai Peterson, son of Kristopher and Kamaya. A Celebration of Life will be at 11:30AM on Saturday, December 29th at MUELLER MEMORIAL, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake. Burial with full military honors at Fort Snelling on January 4th.
