Douglas Ames “Doug” Koebnick

Passed away on July 23, 2014. On June 12, 1958, Doug was born in Minneapolis to Michael and Jacqueline Koebnick. Doug was a free spirit who lived, laughed and loved life to the fullest. He lived for the enjoyment of summertime on White Bear Lake, spending endless hours and days with his friends boating or barbequing on the lake. He loved the fresh air and sunshine, the sandy beach and the beautiful women on it. He loved White Bear Lake so much, he was known to jump into it in subzero weather during the Polar Plunge at the VFW. Doug loved life and we will miss him very much. White Bear Lake has lost a true icon! Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Jacqueline. He is survived by his sister, Michelle (Nick) DeSalvo; niece, Nicole; nephew, David; many aunts, uncles and cousins; dear friends, Willbur Mulestad, Steve Sunguard, David Ettesvold, Jeffrey Lundstrom, Michael Brass, Pat Churchill; and many other friends and relatives. Visitation 4-7 PM Monday, July 28 at Mueller Lake Mortuary, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at St. Jude of the Lake Catholic Church, 700 Mahtomedi Ave., Mahtomedi with visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Cemetery, White Bear Lake. Memorials are preferred to the Minnesota Lions Eye Bank or other charity of the donor’s choice.
