Doretta Alice Estella Love

73, of Saint Paul, MN, formerly of Rosemount and Eagan, MN and Brookhaven and Sharon Hill, PA died on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at HealthPartners Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN after battling cancer. Doretta was born to William and Pannie Mae Gibson on February 1, 1950, at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, PA. She married Calvin Love, Jr. on April 15, 1978, at First African Baptist Church in Sharon Hill, PA. Doretta graduated from Darby Township High School in Darby Township, PA in 1969 and attended Keystone Secretarial and Business School where she earned an associate degree in their Executive Secretarial course in 1971. She worked in several secretarial and office admin roles before retirement, most recently at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Minnesota in Eagan, MN. Doretta enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles, reading, crochet, reality TV shows, The Bold & The Beautiful and being around her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings, Bonnie Bailey, Joseph Barton, Sr., Carl Barton, Sr., William Edward Barton, William Thomas Barton. She’s survived by her sons, Calvin, III. and Christopher Love; grandchildren Jayden Schulz, Dominic Love, Charlotte Love, Royal and Reece Iglesias; sister Wilma Peterson; brothers-in-law Fredrick “Rick” Peterson and Gregory Moore; sister-in-law Kathy Love-Moore; nephews Derrick Jr. and Tony Bailey, Donald, Joseph Jr. and Ernest Barton and many cousins, all beloved. Public visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday October 14, 2023, at Muller Memorial in St. Paul, 835 Johnson Parkway. Private family service held.
