Donna Mae Whittaker Wakefield

Wakefield, Donna M. Best Friend Lifelong East-Sider Born April 6, 1932. Joined her parents, Carl and Hildred Whittaker in eternal life on March 6, 2012. Survived by best friend and husband of nearly 55 years, Wallace; children, Peter (Valerie Loichot), Beth (Jode Fritz), Bonnie, Laura (Randy Kovars), and Lynn (Steve) Hennen; grandchildren, Daniel Paladie, Alanna and Bailey Hennen, Virginia and Carl Fritz, Zoe and Nathan Wakefield. Donna’s life has been dedicated to helping others. She will be missed by many who knew her through her more than 60 years of philanthropic work with the Alpha Chi chapter of ESA since 1951. Her friendships run deep and many. Everyone whose life was touched by Donna’s was blessed by her generous spirit, irrepressible bravery, and unforgettable humor. Special thanks to Dr. John Wangsness, Kris Gilleo, Quynh Nguyen and the entire staff at MOPHA for providing exceptional oncological care for more than eight years. Through her example of caring and courage, her family will persist in her absence and be strengthened and comforted by the love that surrounded and radiated from her throughout her life. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Monday, March 12, 2012 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2119 Stillwater Ave., St. Paul. Visitation will be 1-5 PM Sunday at Mueller Memorial Funeral Home, 835 Johnson Pkwy, St. Paul and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Monday. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Saint Paul. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Our Lady of Peace Home, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of your choice are preferred.
