Born in St. Paul, MN on Nov. 28, 1939. Don was a loyal St. Paulite who was dedicated to his family, his church, and his faithful canine companions, Blue & Buster. A Cretin H.S. alumni, Don served for a time in the U.S. Army and attended St. Thomas College. Being crowned King Boreas Rex LXXI was the topper to many decades of community service including St. Paul Jaycees, Winter Carnival Capt. of Royal Guards in 1963, St. Paul Men’s Club, and the Founder of the Men’s Club at St. John the Baptist Church in Hugo. Preceded in death by loving wife, Sheri and parents, Donald M. Schoeller and Bernice L. Schoeller. Don is survived by his children, Shannon (Brett) Griest, Robin (George) Heller, Robert Schoeller, Daniel (Shelly) Schoeller, Randy (Jeff) Holm and Kris Holm; grandchildren, Chase Griest, Brittany (Jeff) Cheek, Kyle (Brittany) Heller, Cortni Conrad, Josh Heller, Lexi Schoeller, Tony Schoeller, Alyssa Schoeller and Alex Schoeller; one great-grandchild, Lili Fisher; siblings, Sharon (Jim) Thiel of Forest Lake, Gary (Pam) of Brooklyn Center; Nancy (Tom) Jensen of Siren, WI; Susan (Albert) Boche of Woodbury and Denis (Sharon) of Mahtomedi; special buddy, Jeremy Schoeller; and many nieces, nephews and other family. Affiliated with MN Life and Northstar Resource Group since 1966, Don was dedicated to the insurance and financial services industry, where he touched the lives of thousands. An avid fisherman and dog lover, Don was most happy with a fishing pole in hand and his dogs at his side. A committed MN sports fan, Don has been a Viking season ticket holder for nearly 4 decades. He had a smile for everyone and saw the best in all. Visitation 4-8PM on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Mueller Lake Mortuary, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake. Mass of Christian Burial 11AM on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Church, 14383 Forest Blvd., Hugo with second visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Hugo.
