Dolores Kurz

Kurz, Dolores “Dodie” Dearly loved Wife, Sister, Mom, Grandma & Great Grandma Left this world on December 14, 2018 surrounded by her family. Preceded in death by parents George & Caroline Schultz. Survived by devoted husband of 66 years, Thomas; sister Patricia Hogan (John); Special sister-in-law Jeanne. Her children Dwight, Nancy Rankin, David (Debbie), Susan Hutchens, Steven (Deb) and Karen Reiland (Mark); 18 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. Memorial Mass Thursday, December 20th at 11:30 am at CHURCH OF ST. PIUS X, 3878 Highland Avenue, White Bear Lake with visitation one hour before the Mass. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Dodie will be remembered for her devotion to her faith, husband and family foremost. In the summer of 1952 “The bride to be” traveled to Shephard Airforce Base in Texas to be married on the 4th of July to the love of her life. This was the only day the Uni ted States Airforce would let Tom off work. They should have known when they started their life out with ”fireworks” it would be a marriage (and family) anything but dull. Dodie genuinely loved life and all it had to offer especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and family gatherings at 1882 Dieter St. and “Kurz’s Kove”. Dodie was a “natural” at caring for others and never said, “no”. She was an excellent nurse and was “at home” in her role at the hospital. Dodie loved serving her church especially supporting unborn babies. She loved to travel with the “elite group”, to las Vegas with Tom and friends ,Summer vacation with the Moores (even “look at the Kurzs go”) song“,Kurz Kids” Weekends… but her favorite was Hawaii, where she wore her "moo moo” proudly. Dodie loved to laugh, listen to music and boy could she dance -her favorite exercise of all. Her love of life will forever be in the hearts of her family, friends and all who knew her. We love you “so much” and watch over us until we see you again.
