Dennis F. Rogers
Dennis passed away at age 69, on May 31, 2020, after a long battle with a Progressive Lung Disease. He is preceded in death by parents Reinhardt and Mary Therese. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Janell; his 2 brothers Michael (Mary) Rogers, and Daniel (Teresa) Rogers; and his 2 nieces and 2 nephews: niece/God-daughter Amy Rogers, niece Tammy (Sam) Mohler, nephew Nicholas (Linda) Rogers, and nephew/God-son Nathan Rogers. Dennis also has many cousins, extended family (8 nieces-by-marriage, 8 nephews-by-marriage, 7 grandnieces-by-marriage, 8 grandnephews-by-marriage), and many dear friends.
Dennis grew up in Maplewood and was a proud graduate of Hill High School class of 1969, where he played football and hockey. Dennis was an avid Minnesota sports fan. If he could not watch his favorite Minnesota sports teams live, he would never miss watching them on the TV or radio. Dennis was our go-to guy for sports trivia!
Dennis loved to gather and spend time with his friends and family, especially his nieces and nephews. When he made a friend, they became a friend for life. Dennis was known as âUncle Dennyâ to his family. He was also known as âUncle Dennyâ to many extended family and friends even though he was not related to them. He was proud when one of his grandnieces-by-marriage called him âPapa.â
Dennis is remembered for his kindness, compassion, and his great sense of humor. He was a great storyteller and always had a new joke to share. Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, traveling and site seeing whenever he got the chance. He especially enjoyed going on cruises. He never missed the Minnesota State Fair. Dennis loved his cats and dogs dearly.
Uncle Denny is loved by his family and many friends and will be dearly missed by all. God broke our hearts to show us that He only takes the best. We love you Uncle Denny. You are gone but never forgotten.
A private Mass was held for Dennis at St. Maryâs of The Lake Catholic Church, on June 3rd.
