CLEMENT P. KACHELMYER
Age 87 of St. Paul. Born December 23, 1927 in Mankato, MN and died February 8, 2015 in St. Paul, MN, while surrounded by his family. Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was grateful to have lived independently until his final, brief illness. He was thankful for his family and many friends.
Preceded in death by loving wife of 62 years, Mary Elizabeth (Stadler) of Marshfield, WI; parents Henry and Christine (Wartman) (formerly of Mankato, then Duluth), brother and sister-in-law Richard and Anne (of Duluth), daughter-in-law Jeanne McPhee. Survived by children, Philip (Marlene), Mark (Kathy), Ann, Tom, Paul (Vickie) and Marie (Ron Grimm); grandchildren, Kate Sophia (Brian Hayden), Chris Harold Kachelmyer (Gwen), Justin Sherlock (Jessica), Andrew Kachelmyer (Vicky), Grant Kachelmyer, Katherine Grimm; six great-grandchildren; brother, John (Deana) of New Mexico; sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Born in North Mankato, MN. Graduate of Mankato Sr. High School, Duluth Jr. College, University of Minnesota Twin Cities (Bachelor of Civil Engineering). Veteran of World War II and service with 51st Military Police Battalion in Korea. Registered Professional Civil Engineer, 43 years with Minnesota Highway Department and Minnesota Department of Transportation. Life Member: American Society of Civil Engineers, VFW Post 5, American Legion.
Honors: Phi Theta Kappa Fraternity. Awards of Merit from Preservation Alliance of Minnesota and American Association for State and Local History. All-State VFW Post Quartermaster. An archaeological site in SE Minnesota was named after him in his honor for meritorious efforts in Minnesota Native American historic preservation.

Assistant Scoutmaster BSA Troops 75 and 294. Quartermaster VFW Post 5. Member of Committee on Environment, Archaeology and History Preservation of American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at St. Pascal Baylon Catholic Church, 1757 Conway St., St. Paul with visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment, Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to St. Pascal Baylon Catholic Church or charity of donor’s choice. Mueller Memorial is serving the family.
