Charles (Charlie) Loyd Salley

Charles Loyd Salley Age 85 of St. Paul – Passed Away Peacefully At Home After a Short Battle with Cancer Charlie was born in Shidler, Oklahoma on June 19, 1929 to Leland and Vera Salley. He then moved to Minnesota where he was a longtime resident of St. Paul. Charlie was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He met the love of his life, Patricia Culbertson, in California and they were later married in Las Vegas, Nevada. Charlie was a lifelong and dedicated employee of the United States Post Office. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters and infant son Leland. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 62 years, Pat Salley; his four children, Richard Downs of St. Paul, Sally Truken of Forest Lake, Robert Downs of St. Paul and Charlene Quast of St. Paul. He will be remembered as the absolute best grandpa ever to over 60 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He is further survived by too many other family and friends to mention. An evening visitation will be from 4-7PM on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Mueller Memorial, 835 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul. The funeral service for Charlie will be at 11AM on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Mueller Memorial Parkway Chapel, 835 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul with a gathering of friends and family shortly before. Interment and military honors to follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis
