Bruce was born in Sayre, Pennsylvania on May 12, 1954 to Polly (nee Wheaton) and Bruce Wimer. He grew up in Albuquerque and later attended the University of New Mexico. He met the love of his life, Kay Christ and they were married in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 24, 1980. They had four children together. Bruce built a career in fine jewelry with Zales, R.F. Moeller, and Jared the Galleria of Jewelry. Outside of work he enjoyed golfing, spending time with his four grandsons, and playing board games with the family. Bruce was a very outgoing man who had a great sense of humor, cared for everyone he met, could make anyone feel special, and was a phenomenal mentor to younger professionals. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Bruce passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015, while surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Bruce Wimer and his brother-in-law, John Chapman. Bruce is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary Kathryn “Kay” of Maplewood; their children, Wade Wimer of Chicago, IL; Beth and Ruben Macias of Mahtomedi, MN, Amy and Justin Bennett of Mahtomedi, MN, and Brandon Wimer of Minneapolis, MN; four grandsons who called him “Papa”, Benicio Macias, Jude Bennett, Marcos Macias, and Martin Bennett; his “fifth child” and nephew, Tony Melillo; two sisters, Susan Chapman of Danville, CA and Kathy (Paul) Tawney of Chapel Hill, NC; his cousins, Joel Wimer of Smolan, KS and Candace Harjes of Boulder, CO; two beloved dogs, Annie and Bandit; and many other family and friends.
There will be a service to celebrate Bruce’s life on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 1PM at Mueller Memorial, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake with a reception to follow until 4PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to
