Betty Jane Rafferty (nee Kase)
Age 93 of St. Paul ~ April 22, 1922 to October 10, 2015
Betty was born April 22, 1922 in St. Paul to Rueben Kasofsky and Lily (nee Hansen). She grew up with her 5 sisters Ruth, Dorothy, Sylvia, Lorraine, and Harriet, inseparable in spirit throughout their lives. She graduated from Harding High School in 1940. She married George, the love of her life, on July 5, 1943. She made the title “home maker” into an art form. Her life and the lessons she leaves behind extol the virtues of family and service to others. She enjoyed cooking and she loved to clean, but above all, her family was the center of her world. Survived by husband of 72 years, George; children, Rob (Amy), Kathy (Keith) Lind, Chris (Wayne) Longnecker, and Craig (Kathy). Her grandchildren, James and Julia Rafferty; Kristopher and Kameron Lind; Cari (Tim) McGlynn; Jason (Vanessa) Longnecker; Erin (Andy) Bugher; Anne (Tyler) Zimmerman; and Lynn (Matt) Long. Her great-grandchildren; Jax, Ann and Teague McGlynn; Zachary, Elaina, and Davis Longnecker; Addie and Gracie Bugher; Riley, Lauren and AJ Zimmerman; Jake, Alice, and Feb. baby Long. Betty is survived by siblings and in laws, Harriet Hazzard, Lorraine (Joe) Deloia; Mark Rafferty; Grace Marie (Robert) Nord; Robert (Peggy) Rafferty; and over 100 nieces and nephews and countless friends. Mass of Christian Burial 10AM on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 2072 Hamline Ave. N., Roseville with visitation at 9AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to a charity of your choice.
