Betty J. Hines

Betty J. Reining was born in Prairie City, Illinois in 1937 to Dale and Cleda (Hendrickson) Reining. Betty’s father passed away in 1964 and her mother passed on in 2009. Her older sister Phyllis Bryan preceded her in death in 2010 and her younger brother, Ron Reining resides in Kingsport, TN. She graduated from Bushnell Prairie City High School in 1954. Betty married Robert Hines in 1962 and they had two daughters, Lynná and Gloria. She became a widow in 1974 when Bob was killed in a car accident. Betty enjoyed quilting and earned ribbons for her work. An avid knitter and crocheter, she crafted hundreds of hats for charity. Of late, she lived in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, but had lived in Sycamore, Illinois and Dandridge, Tennessee.
