Bernard (Bernie) William Ranweiler

Ranweiler, Bernard W. “Bernie” Beloved husband of Charlotte for 59 years Age 79, long time East Sider, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2011 surrounded by family. Survived by his wife, Charlotte; daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Gordy Peterson of White Bear Lake, daughter, Patty Slagle of St. Paul; son, John of White Bear Lake; cherished grandchildren, Maj. Matt and his wife, Toni Peterson of Omaha, NE, and Chrissy Peterson of White Bear Lake; precious great-grandchildren, Jack, Georgia and Sophie; 2 brothers, Bert and his wife, Donna, Ed and his wife, Marion; 3 sisters, Alice Prax, Julie Schugel and Mary Curran; sister-in-law, Rosie Ranweiler; dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins; and by many dear friends and teammates. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Bernice, Arnie, and Delores; and by son-in-law, Dan Slagle. Bernie loved his family and was a devoted caregiver to Charlotte for the past four years. His humor, kindness and warmth will be missed by all. Visitation from 4-8 PM Sunday, July 24 at MUELLER MEMORIAL PARKWAY CHAPEL, 835 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul and 1 hour prior to Mass at church. Mass of Christian Burial at noon Monday, July 25 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2119 Stillwater Avenue, St. Paul. Reception immediately following the Mass. Private Interment in Union Cemetery on Tuesday.
