BICHA, Barbara A. (Valenty)

 September 16, 1951 - January 23, 2025

Barb was the oldest of seven children born to Vito and Margaret (Lydon) Valenty in St. Paul, MN. She attended St. Pascal's Grade School and was a graduate of Hill-Murray High School and a graduate of Century College (AA) and Metropolitan State University (BA). She had a lengthy career in the airline industry spanning over 39 years working for both Northwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines, retiring in 2012. She enjoyed her airline travel benefits which gave her many opportunities to visit many places in the world. After retirement, she volunteered at MSP Airport for the Traveler's Assistance program for the Airport Foundation assisting travelers at the airport, which she enjoyed thoroughly. In addition to volunteering, she enjoyed traveling, golf, yoga, biking, gardening, and snowshoeing. She was part of the Environment Committee at St. Mary of the Lake Church, White Bear Lake and was a member of the Founders Alumni Group at Hill-Murray School.

She is preceded in death by her parents; stepdad, Harold Blum; parents' in-law, Joseph Sr. (Bud) and Beulah Bicha; infant sister, Mary; brother, Richard (Dick) Valenty; grandparents; uncles; aunts; and other family and friends. Barb is survived by her husband, Joe ; sisters, Carole (Arnie) Fritsche, Joan Valenty, and Ann (Mike) Clark; brother, John (Cindy) Valenty; sister-in-law, Rena Valenty; nephews and nieces Jake, Justin (Nikki), Brian (Holly), Danny (Morgan), Jessica, Christa (Mike), Brittay (Adam), Erika (Ricky); and 12 grand-nephews and nieces.

Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Lake, White Bear Lake on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 11:00 am with inurnment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2-6:00 pm at Mueller Memorial White Bear Lake and on Monday from 10-11 am at the church.
