Anna was a 21-year-old refugee from Latvia who married Vaclavs during WW2 while fleeing their homeland during a Soviet bombing raid. Anna deeply loved her Catholic faith, her family, her culture and any animal she ever met. She was the founder of the ProLife movement of Latvia and attended daily mass at St. Maryâs Catholic Church in White Bear Lake. Anna was a 3rd order lay Carmelite. She actively campaigned for the reestablishment of Latvian independence with the rest of the Baltic American community and enjoyed spending summers in Latvia with her husband, friends and family after independence was re-gained. Having deeply missed her homeland now at a time of peace she will be once again returning home to be buried next to her husband.
