Amy Estelle Hansmann (Wilde)

A SPECIAL NOTE FROM AMY: “God blessed me and my family with many loving friends and neighbors who have provided meals, prayers, anointing, and food during my journey. Thank you for the kind priests and deacons who have celebrated Mass at our home and while I was in the hospital. Thank you also to so many who helped with rides to doctors, picked up kids, brought meals, sent gift cards, bought groceries, and most of all, prayed for me and my family. –Amy” LIFE STORY Amy Estelle Hansmann “Aimers” Amy was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on December 19, 1969 to Cecilia (nee Kukla) and Arthur Wilde. Her parents raised the family in St. Paul near the Phalen neighborhood. She graduated from St. Bernard’s Catholic High School but attended Johnson High School for one year. Amy had a girlfriend named Laura who had a cousin named Doug Hansmann. Laura decided to introduce the two and Doug and Amy began dating. The two were married at Maternity of Mary Catholic Church on January 29, 1994. While looking for a home in the Twin Cities, they found a beautiful house in White Bear Lake. Amy took child care courses at Century College and started an in home day care called Amy’s Angels. Besides caring for other children, she raised their four children as well. The kids attended St. Agnes Catholic School and Amy was very involved with volunteering there and with the kids’ numerous activities. The whole family became members of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church for many years and Amy was a part of the Moms in Touch Prayer Group. For the last ten years, they have been very dedicated members of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Through St. Pius, Amy has been involved with the Women’s Enrichment Group, the Parish Council, and any volunteer opportunity through the church. Throughout her life, her family was always her number one priority. Her time was spent caring for them and spending time with them. Her second favorite thing was hanging out with her girlfriends and constantly laughing. Amy brought happiness to all who knew her. Amy passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 with her family by her side. She is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Wayne Hansmann. Amy will be dearly missed by her devoted and affectionate parents, Ceil and Art Wilde of St. Paul; her husband of 24 years, Doug Hansmann of White Bear Lake; and her children, Jacob (22 years old), Kimberly (20 years old), Matthew (16 years old) and Benjamin (12 years old), all of White Bear Lake. She is also survived by siblings, Julie (Kevin) Jefferson of Georgia, Andy (Sue) Wilde of New Brighton, Rob Wilde of West St. Paul; and Michael (Amy) Wilde of St. Paul Park; her caring mother-in-law, Doris Hansmann; her siblings-in-law, Debbie, Greg (Tracy), and Mike (Suzy) Hansmann; her godmother, Teresa Dempski of Illinois; her uncle and aunt, Tom and Joanie; and too many more friends and family to name. There will be a visitation for Amy from 4:30-8:30 PM on Monday, June 25, 2018 at THE CHURCH OF ST. PIUS X, 3878 Highland Avenue, White Bear Lake, with a Rosary at 8:30 PM. There will be a second visitation from 10AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM, all at the church.
