Great cook, baker-7 layer cakes for birthdays, gardener, sewer of all things needing a button or a patch and all around household manager. Helped care for Lil Tyke, Buttons, Dynamite & Frisky. Church organist and pianist. Loved banjo music~ entertainment at her 90th Birthday party. Quality music was important. As her ears aged and sounds faded, she still could discern among good or bad notes. “Alaska Troopers”, PBS, and action movies were her favorite tv shows. Disliked aging, wanted to be “forever young”. Missed “Schneid”. Proud member of the St. Paul Police Historical Society as her grandfather was a member of the force during the 1900’s. Thank you to the staff at Homestead of Maplewood Assisted Living and most recently, to the staff at White Pine Senior Living of Cottage Grove, for their special care. Thank you to HealthPartners Hospice team whose extraordinary care and compassion eased mom’s passing. Huge thanks to Sandra Van Horn, retired hospice aide and special friend, who was by her side upon the final hours. Sandra’s stories about growing up in Germany brought laughter and joy to mom.
