Hayne, Albert Joseph
5/4/29 – 2/14/12
Albert soared to heaven to be reunited with his sweetheart on Valentine’s Day 2012. Al was welcomed into eternal life by his wife of 44 years, Joan; his daughters, Linda and Nancy; and infant daughter, Cecilia. Al is preceded in death by his father, Albert; mother, Louise; and brother, Peter. Al graduated from Cretin High School where he played trumpet in the band and dreamed of becoming a Marine. Instead by chance, he met Joan Lloyd and as love conquers all, they were wed in 1950. Al and Joan went on life’s journey together and had eleven children, Jim, Jeanne, Linda, John, Karen, Cecilia, Nancy, Steve, Barbara, Paul, and Catherine. Al loved his faith, his family and friends. He was always very generous with his time helping others including the Sacred Heart Holy Name Society; Meals on Wheels; Dorothy Day; The Science Museum of Minnesota; Maple Manor Care Center; and Volunteer Senior Tax Preparation. Al was always good with numbers. Just last fall he said it was “scary” how many phone numbers and addresses he knew by heart. Al enjoyed being on Clam Lake, in Siren, WI, where he would spend summers planning his winter vacation and vacationed in Palm Springs, CA where he’d spend winters planning his summer vacation. Many thanks to friends in Minnesota & Palm Springs who were influential in helping Al realize his final dream trip to Palm Springs. Also tremendously missing Al are his brother, Thomas (Rosemary); sister-in-law, Jacquelin Hayne; sons-in-law, Rob Felt, John Wurst; and daughter-in-law; Mary Hayne. Continuing to follow in his footsteps are 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, and also left behind are dear, precious friends Eric Larson, Sue Krieger and Vicki Anderson. Al was an energizing inspiration to all, and was truly loved by everyone who knew him. “DAD X TEN” until we meet again, we’ll miss you Papa! Papa: “Love everyone with all your heart; love those less fortunate even more.” Albert flew off to be with his sweetheart in heaven on Valentine’s Day 2012.
