âI canât believe it, but itâs trueâ¦â
Adolph was born on August 28, 1913 in Winona, Minnesota, to Josephine (nee Giesinger) and Adolph Anton Palme Sr. They moved to North St. Paul and he attended St. Peterâs Catholic School. He met the love of his life, Millie, and they were married in Wisconsin in 1934. Adolph worked for over 50 years for Kemper Motors on East 7th Street (they later became Barnett Motors). He and his son, Richard, worked side by side on auto body repair for many years. He was a hardworking man and when he was not at his work, he was doing work around his home. Adolph was always helping someone or going out of his way to fix something for them. He and Millie loved to travel and were able to take cruises in the Caribbean, tour Europe several times, go to Hawaii, and most often they traveled out West. His time was primarily spent with his friends and family, especially watching his grandkids. He will be remembered for being one of the kindest and sweetest men to exist. For those who knew him well, he was an outgoing, funny, and friendly man. Once he got to know someone, he was their friend forever. Adolph will be missed by all who knew him. Adolph passed away at Cerenity of White Bear Lake on Thursday, May 12, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Millie; seven of his siblings; and his great-granddaughter. He will be dearly missed by his sons, Robert Palme of Chisago, Richard (Marion) Palme of White Bear Lake, and Ray Palme of Hastings; his 9 grandchildren; his 9 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Arnold âArnieâ (Laverne) Palme of Hudson, and Donald âDonâ Palme of New Brighton; and many other family and friends. There will be a gathering for friends and family from 10:00-11:00AM on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Church of St. Peter, 2600 Margaret Street N., North St. Paul, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM at the church. Interment at Union Cemetery of White Bear Lake.
