Hogan, Adeline "Adie" G., 93, of Mahtomedi, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 8, 2023. Heaven is a more beautiful place today with her presence where she will live in peace eternally. Adie is preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill"; her parents, George and Cecilia Sames; and her siblings, Robert, Vernon, Marie. She is survived by her children, Tim (Christie), Colleen (Bill) Hanson, Mark (Kathy), and Kevin; grandchildren, Brenna (Scott), Dan (Gabi), Steve (Ali), Christopher (Jennifer), Erin (Chris), Timothy, Andy (Amanda), Jeff, and Kelly; great grandchildren, Kyler, Jana, Katrina, Greyson, Colette, Maxine, Luca, Zachary, Avery, Isla, and Lydia; sister, Georgian (Bill) Braun; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Adie devoted her professional life to education, working as an elementary teacher for over 30 years mostly at Woodcrest Elementary School in Spring Lake Park. Her dedication to her profession made her a cherished member of the school community.
Outside of the classroom, Adie was an enthusiastic supporter of Minnesota sports. She was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Gopher Hockey, and the Minnesota Wild, cheering them on with every game.
Adie's love for the outdoors led her to explore various activities, she particularly enjoyed downhill skiing in Colorado and Utah. She cherished her summers with family at her cabin on Lake Pokegama in Grand Rapids, MN. and she loved line dancing, bridge and bingo!
Adie had a deep affection for her Yorkies Arfie, Precious, and her miniature poodle Benji. She spent many joyful moments walking them and treasured their companionship. Adie's love for travel took her to numerous destinations, but she held a special place in her heart for the spiritual pilgrimages she embarked on with St. Jude of the Lake Church.
A woman of great generosity and compassion, Adie was actively involved in her community. She dedicated her time volunteering at her church and regularly assisted with Meals on Wheels. Adie found solace in bringing comfort to others and brightened the lives of many through her selfless acts of kindness. She was known for praying the rosary at senior living facilities,offering solace to the sick and infirm during their times of need.
Above all, Adie cherished her time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. These special times brought her immeasurable joy and created lasting memories for all.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at St. Jude of the Lake, 700 Mahtomedi Ave, Mahtomedi, with visitation from 10 AM until the time of the mass. Private Family Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred in Adie Hogan's name to St. Jude of the Lake Catholic School.
